Sophie and Roz’s Hornington Manor Wedding Photography Highlights
12th June 2017
We’d been looking forward to this one for ages. We got on like a house on fire when we first met Sophie & Roz and then had such a laugh on their pre-wedding shoot in York that we knew the wedding was going to be something special. We could wax lyrical about just how lovely these two are – but rather than embarrass them and ourselves let’s just say they are a damn fine couple!
Sophie & Roz had chosen the lovely Hornington Manor near Tadcaster for their wedding – with an added teepee from the folks at Papakata – an excellent choice all round. Hornington Manor is a working farm with a beautiful main house, huge, airy wedding barn and plenty of gardens and fields for photos (lambs optional!). The weather forecast was not good and we were all ready to go with wellies and brollies until, actually, it wasn’t nearly quite so bad in the end and as you’ll see below it really was a beautiful end to the day.
Both the girls got ready in different parts of the house and at 1pm sharp Roz was the first to make her way down the aisle, followed shortly by her very soon-to-be wife. A special mention to Elspeth, Roz’s Mum, who unfortunately became a little unwell during the ceremony and missed most of the subsequent festivities. We wish her a very speedy recovery!
The rain had stopped and the Reception was kicked off in fine style with confetti, music and canapes from ace caterers Hog & Apple. We took Sophie & Roz off for what turned out to be the first of a few bride and bride shoots that day, took some family photos and headed off to capture the beauty of the teepee decorations before all the guests descended on it for dinner. We hope you’ll agree that the girls did a magnificent job of the decorations. After dinner there were 4 brilliant speeches, plenty of toasting and, with the sun trying it’s hardest to make an appearance, some more photos in the Hornington Manor fields – finished off with the most perfect rainbow over the teepee – and over Sophie & Roz’s wedding day in general.
The evening party rocked, the sun set and the sparklers sparkled – and then it was sadly time for us to leave. We had one of the best wedding days yet and we feel truly honoured to have been able to spend it with them. We wish Sophie & Roz every imaginable happiness for their future together and we hope very much that you like the highlights that we have but together for them below.
