Our first Carlton Towers wedding celebration of the year took place a couple of weeks back on a hot and stormy late Spring day. It was the wedding of Jessica and Richard – with a church service in Bilbrough (York) followed by a reception under the Gothic spires of magnificent Carlton Towers near Goole.

Jessica and the girls prepared for the festivities ahead at her parents’ house while Richard and the boys talked about/admired/rode tractors not too far away (they finally got ready for the wedding too!). Jessica and Dad arrived in the traditional way to church – the boys took a…..yes you guessed it.

A church service was lovely although unfortunately the vicar did not allow any photos at all during the service. This was followed by plenty of mingling and congratulations in the sunshine outside – plus a few photos with the tractor! The dash was then on to get to Carlton Towers before the storm broke. Jessica and Richard managed it just in time however some of the guests were not quite so lucky. We used the opportunity to get some photos of Jessica and Richard using the beautiful windows, chandeliers and staircase. The storm caused a brief power cut and the combination of the dark, roaring wind and pelting rain made it particularly atmospheric. The sun did come back out in time for a sunny second half to the drinks reception and family/group photos.

After a sumptuous wedding breakfast in Carlton Towers splendid dining room it was time for some very funny speeches, a few more couple photos and a stonking great party! It was a truly fantastic day and we are very happy to have been there to capture it. Please enjoy some of the highlights below. Congratulations again to Jessica and Richard!
