Kim & Damien’s Priory Cottages Wedding Photography Highlights
31st October 2016
Our first visit back to beautiful Priory Cottages in 2016 last weekend was long overdue and we were really looking forward to Kim & Damien’s Autumn wedding in this stunning setting. One of the great things about a Priory Cottages wedding is how self-contained everything is. Family and friends basically move in for the weekend and Kim and Damien spent the Friday evening with their nearest and dearest eating and drinking around the fire pits surrounded by the twinkly lights of the Priory courtyard. As the morning of the wedding day arrived, Kim and the “bride squad” enjoyed their preparations just over the way from Damien and the boys without there being any danger of bumping into each other!
The ceremony took place under the eaves of the beautifully dressed Priory Barn (conducted by Kim’s aunt, the Registrar of the family!) and accompanied by some spine-tingling mandolin playing and singing by Damien’s brother-in-law. As is the custom at Priory Cottages Kim and Damien were then scattered with confetti from the balcony before greeting their guests and kicking off the drinks reception.
It was a mild late October day, perfect for couple portraits under the Autumn trees and family photos around the courtyard whilst the guests enjoyed their Pimms outside, accompanied by more music from Kim & Damien’s very talented friends. The marquee was dressed to perfection and looked absolutely beautiful under the chandeliers. Kim and Damien were announced into the wedding breakfast to thunderous applause and after dinner there were some fantastic speeches by Kim’s Dad, Damien and best man Stuart.
By now the sun had set, the lights twinkled outside and the fire pits were roaring. It was soon time for Kim and Damien’s first dance, a rousing set from the excellent The Salvation, followed by a sparkler celebration outside. The perfect way to wrap up the photography of a truly wonderful day.
Our thanks to Kim and Damien for asking us to be part of their special day and we hope you enjoy some of the highlights below.
