Michelle & Adam’s Lake District Wedding Highlights
6th September 2016
We don’t mind admitting to having been a little nervous about this Lake District wedding last Saturday. Michelle and Adam are good friends, knowing them both as we do through the wedding industry. Michelle is a wedding planner and we work with her and her team from Box Tree Events and Bridal PA on a regular basis. She’s a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to the job and it was typical that so much of the planning for her own wedding was left to the last minute as she was focusing all her time and efforts on the weddings of her clients!
Michelle and Adam chose The Lingholme Estate in the Lake District as their wedding venue, a beautiful country house owned by friends of theirs on the shores of Derwentwater. A truly stunning setting. Now – the risk with this country, and particularly the Lake District – is that whatever the time of year there is always the chance of it being a bit damp. Or, as in this case, torrential rain for most of the day! It didn’t matter a jot. It was a spectacular day from start to finish: preparations at the house that were full of laughter and oh so many tears (Michelle really put the make up artist through her paces), a gorgeous service at Crossthwaite church in Keswick (cue more tears Michelle) and a lavish reception back at The Lingholme Estate. Michelle’s Box Tree Events team were on hand to spoil her, Adam and the guests rotten (we think they were just a tad nervous too). The rain stopped literally for 10 mins to allow us to grab a big group shot outside and we used the lovely interior for a few couple photos before dinner.
After a lip-smacking Box Tree wedding breakfast and some lovely speeches (cue more tears Michelle), our newlyweds threw caution to the wind (or on this case rain) and we headed out onto the Derwentwater pontoon, wellies and brollies at the ready, for a few more photos. We were all taken aback by how atmospheric and peaceful it was out there. Adam was up for coming back for the rest of the evening with brandy and cigars! Not to be however as there was the small matter of an evening party and some dance floor moves to contend with.
It’s always such a pleasure to see our clients so happy on their wedding day. On Saturday it was even more so the case. Two truly awesome people – one impeccable wedding. We loved it!!
Congratulations Michelle and Adam. Have an amazing holiday and see you both soon!
