Tina & Simon’s Rudding Park Wedding Photography Highlights

Sunset bride and groom

Last weekend saw our first visit of 2016 to a Rudding Park wedding and it was a particularly special one. We were looking forward to it as we knew it would feature plenty of Chinese wedding tradition, and from previous Chinese weddings we’ve photographed in the UK we know how much fun it is.

The whole wedding, from preparations to party, took place at Rudding Park, with the wedding blessing in their beautiful chapel – which incidentally is run by one of our favourite vicars who lets us roam as we please and invites us up front for the best bits! Oh if there were only more of the same outlook!

As it’s only a short walk from the hotel itself the only thing threatening a delay to the ceremony was Tina choosing which of the six pairs of shoes she had brought with her to wear! The blessing was beautiful – full of wonderful readings, tears, applause and laughter.

The other thing that you know you are going to get at a Chinese wedding is a LOT of cameras, so we sneakily ran off with Tina and Simon after the wedding blessing to a far flung corner of the Rudding Park grounds for couple photos while the rest of the paparazzi hunted us! After drinks and chat there was a lovely tradition – the tea ceremony – where Tina and Simon served tea to family members and received wedding gifts. It’s a ceremony full of respect for your family and elders and we think it’s such a lovely thing to do on a wedding day. The meal and speeches were followed by yet another Chinese tradition, but this time a more raucous one, where the wedding party go from table to table toasting the bride and groom. Loudest table wins!

We managed to grab some of the last of the sun before it disappeared behind the trees for a few more couple shots before it was time for the party to enter full swing mode. Brilliant day, lovely couple, fantastic Rudding Park wedding. We hope you enjoy a few of the highlights below. Congratulations Tina & Simon!
