Given this was a Winter Wood Hall wedding, Sarah and Dan had planned for most weather-related eventualities. Severe flooding across the region though wasn’t actually on the list. Luckily for all of us, Wood Hall and the surrounding area just about avoided the worst of it and apart from a few road closures and a detour to church we escaped unscathed – and in stark contrast to the previous few days and weeks it was a brilliantly beautiful day, pleasantly warm with blue skies and not a puff of wind. Exactly what they had wished for!
Following preps for both the guys and girls at Wood Hall, Sarah and Dan were married in a beautiful ceremony at St Oswald’s in Collingham, precariously close to the raging river. A big THANK YOU to the guys from Exclusive Wedding Cars who dug Richard out of the mud in the car park! When everyone arrived back at Wood Hall they were met with a sunny outside (yes, outside) Drinks Reception and the most amazing party brass band we have ever seen – the New York Brass Band. Usually it takes a few hours for everyone to loosen up and get into the party vibe. Not with these guys! The grandparents were rocking on the steps of Wood Hall within about 10 minutes. A fantastic noise and an even better atmosphere. Never before have we had so much fun doing group photos!
Once everyone had caught their breath, it was time for dinner, some lovely (and at times quite close to the edge!) speeches and the evening party featuring the Manytones. In between we managed to grab a few more couple photos and bust out the sparklers for a bit of fun before the first dance.
It was a blast of a Wood Hall wedding and Sarah and Dan looked as happy as it gets. Congratulations to a very lovely couple – we had such a fun day with a great crowd. Here’s wishing them a great mini-moon, a great trip home to Thailand and we look forward to seeing them both in the Summer.
