Papakata-Wedding-York-CoverSaturday in York. A couple of hundred miles away at Lords the England cricket team is being soundly thrashed by Australia in the second test of the Ashes series. Back in Yorkshire a generous handful of our friends from Down Under had managed to turn their attention to a far more important English/Australian encounter: namely the Bedern Hall wedding of Camilla (from Oz) and Huw (from…..Ossett). We met the very lovely Camilla and Huw for the first time back in early January for their pre-wedding shoot and spent a very pleasant couple of hours wandering around York’s beautiful city centre taking photos. We all decided then and there that we should repeat the exercise in July on their wedding day – and we did exactly that!

Camilla & Huw tied the knot at one of our favourite places for a civil ceremony – Bedern Hall – set amongst the cobbled, bustling streets of central York. This 14th century choral hall isn’t a religious building yet it has the same cool, impressive and slightly awe-inspiring interior. And the light in there……After a beautiful ceremony, lovely personal vows and plenty of confetti, hugs and kisses outside afterwards, the guests headed off to the Reception whilst we took Camilla & Huw back around some of their favourite spots.

The Reception was held in a beautifully decorated Papakata teepee just outside York and Australia & Yorkshire combined to make one hell of a party. Plenty of food, a fantastic selection of drinks, great speeches and lots of love and laughter. The sun did its bit for a beautiful sunset and we managed to abduct Camilla & Huw again for a few minutes for some romantic evening portraits before the band did their thing.

Wonderful wedding, the loveliest of couples and funny, warm and welcoming guests. We loved it!! Here are just a few highlights. Congratulations again to Camilla & Huw! R&C x
