Our third wedding of 2014 took us over the Penines to Cheshire for Jess & Graeme’s big day. Since we met these two at a wedding show last February we’ve got to know them very well and we were really looking forward to seeing them tie the knot. We were also pretty certain that we were going to get some serious emotion out of Graeme having witnessed his reaction when he saw the results of their pre-wedding shoot! To be fair though he held it together really well, even though it did take him about five minutes to finally look across the aisle to Jess in church!
The wedding service was held at St Mary’s in Cheadle-Hulme, but before that we joined up with both of them, and their families, as the preparations got into full swing.

After a beautiful service, Jess & Graeme jumped in the car and led the way to the beautiful venue they had chosen for their Wedding Reception. Sandhole Oak Barn is a beautifully designed wedding barn, sitting on the shores of a lake, set in the rolling Cheshire countryside. The interior is large, bright and airy, and the landscaped gardens and patio overlooking the lake make a stunning setting for a drinks reception. Although the weather on the day was far from perfect, the rain had done its worst in the morning and while it was dry we headed off for some couple portraits before the family & group photos.
The barn was decorated to perfection – simple and elegant – with the majority of the work having been done by Jess’ Mum and sister Lucy. The speeches, after dinner, were heartwarming and funny, and then what felt like as many guests again descended on the Barn for a serious evening party, not before we grabbed Graeme and Jess for one last photo out on the patio.
We drove back to Yorkshire very tired, but very happy after such a lovely day. We wish Jess & Graeme the best of everything in their future together!
