Another mid-week wedding, another first time at a venue and another amazing couple. What a Summer this has been! This beautiful late Summer’s day saw us at glorious Goldsborough Hall, an historic 17th-century stately home – and hidden gem – set in beautiful parkland in the heart of the Yorkshire countryside near Knaresborough. Stunning landscaped gardens and a gorgeous interior featuring an oak-panelled Jacobean library and Robert Adams-designed Drawing and Dining Room make this the perfect all-weather wedding venue.

Steph and Dan are such a lovely couple. Steph is a gynaechologist and Dan works in IT – which may explain his weaknesses for Lego and Star Wars! We met them last year at the Harrogate Wedding Show – in fact this year’s show is coming very soon at the Harrogate International Conference Centre on September 29th/30th and we’ll be there again. We had a lovely pre-wedding shoot with them at Nostell Priory which really helped ease them into being in front of the camera, and they slipped right back into the groove during the wedding!

A beautiful, sunny morning saw Steph and the bridesmaids getting ready at Goldsborough Hall, having been awake since the crack of dawn. The guys got themselves ready at home before heading up to the venue for some pre-ceremony photos. Here are some of the highlights from the morning.

I have to say that Steph probably now holds the record for the most organised bride on the morning of the wedding ever! We always ask brides to be ready a good 30 minutes before having to leave for the ceremony so we can get some beautiful bridal portraits and photos with bridesmaids and parents. In most cases though it is still usually a skin-of-the-teeth time of the day. Steph and the girls were ready with at least an hour to go which only served to heighten the tension! It did give us plenty of time though to photograph Stephanie looking absolutely stunning. Anthony, Steph’s brother, was giving Steph away and soon it was time to head downstairs for the ceremony which was lovely in every way. I thought Dan had actually stopped breathing at one point as Steph walked down the aisle! Once the ceremony was over we headed outside for confetti and some bride and groom photos.

Steph and Dan had an early ceremony and their wedding breakfast was therefore early afternoon. Given the weather on the day this was a genius stroke as it left loads of time for the guests to relax and explore the grounds after dinner before the evening party got underway. It also gave us time to steal Steph and Dan for a few more photos!

And so we left Steph, Dan and their guests to the party. It had been a brilliant, relaxed, happy and colourful day and we so enjoyed it! Love and congratulations to you both. R&C xx
