A Wonderful Waterton Park Wedding – Siân & Chris – August 2012
27th August 2012
The best thing about this job? It has to be seeing people that you have got to know really well and like very much, crazy with nerves and excitement on the wedding morning, and then finally seeing each other at the alter or registrar’s table. It never fails to bring a lump to the throat and a daft grin to the face behind the camera. Siân and Chris are a prime example. We met them about 18 months ago at a wedding fair and hit it off immediately. We were very happy when they asked us to photograph their wedding and we quickly got them comfortable in front of the camera at their engagement shoot at Yorkshire Sculpture Park. You can see the photos from that afternoon here.
We knew the morning preparations were going to be great fun and we were not disappointed! Siân and her bridesmaids were getting ready for the big day at Siân’s Mum’s while Chris and best man Andrew were scrubbing up pretty well at home.
The paintings on the wall of Siân’s old bedroom offset the dress perfectly!
We particularly loved the bridesmaids dresses – simple & elegant.
Excellent wedding stubble!
Siân looked breathtakingly beautiful!
The service took place at the beautiful and imposing St. Paulinus in Dewsbury and was simply lovely……
…and then it was off to one of our favourite West Yorkshire venues, Walton Hall at Waterton Park in Wakefield where, after Siân and Chris had topped up their champagne glasses, we kicked off the bride and groom portraits before moving inside to capture some of the lovely details of the wedding breakfast room.
Our new assistant (below right).
Lovely idea having the table plan set out with pegs on a line – genius!
A palpably nervous groom and best man decided (very sensibly) to get the speeches out of the way before the eating and drinking began in earnest! And lovely, warm, funny and heartfelt speeches they were too. It was a beautifully warm evening and the disco was by far the hottest place to be. So after Siân and Chris had thrown some shapes on the dancefloor we whisked them outside again to cool off and make the most of Walton Hall looking splendid.
A lovely, lovely wedding. Thanks Mr & Mrs Pearson for having us there! R&C xxx
