Well I’m glad to be sitting down. As much fun as wedding shows are it doesn’t half take it out on your feet. This was the first year that the Spring Brides show has been held in Leeds having taken place in Harrogate for some years. We weren’t sure whether it would prove as popular in Leeds but we were more than pleasantly surprised with the quality turnout.

The catwalk fashion show was running as usual (complete with a warm up act by the sparkliest Elvis impersonator we have ever seen). Between shows we had no end of visitors: brides full of energy and excitement, grooms sometimes focused on the job, but mostly with half a mind on whatever they would rather be doing and the other half on the latest football scores – and of course parents with a beady eye on everyone’s prices!

During the shows, on the other hand, we were kicking our heels – however luckily we were in just the right spot. A stone’s throw from the coffee and sandwich bar, 2 stands away from the amazing Mama Doreen’s Cupcake Company who kept offering us the most amazing treats and of course how could we forget our fabulous neighbours, The Box Tree Restaurant ( jointly run by fabulous Marco Pierre White), and their sister company Box Tree Events who provide fine dining for weddings held at, amoung other venues, Denton Hall, The Priory, Broughton Hall and York Minster. The lovely Michelle and hugely entertaining Colin had us laughing for the whole two days and we we will definitely be working together in the future.

So, a very entertaining and hopefully successful weekend – a number of follow up visits booked already! Here are a couple of pictures of our stand, our lovely neighbours and the catwalk show. Aside from a few smaller wedding fairs this year we are exhibiting at the UK Wedding Show in September and are planning a very special stand……..watch this space.

Our stand complete with comfy chairs for tired brides....

Queensberry albums......begging to be stroked.

Well, it was Valentine's weekend.

The catwalk.

And quite a few cheesy moves.

A strangely inevitable Dirty Dancing style lift.

Our lovely neighbours, Colin & Michelle, from Box Tree Events.
